Developing A New Product Or Considering Exporting Your Product Internationally?

What You Need to Know to Protect your Invention or Product -
Patents, Trademarks, & Copyrights Explained
ADDED SESSION
Ask US Commercial Service Personnel How to Enter Foreign Markets
and IPR Legal Experts How to Protect Your IP in these Markets
Intellectual property protection is a critical part of a small business owner’s current and future growth strategy. According to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s stopfakes.gov Web site, companies that protect their intellectual property drive more economic growth in the U.S. than any other single sector. Unfortunately, small businesses are more vulnerable than any other sector to piracy, counterfeiting, and the theft of their intellectual property. Small business owners oftentimes simply don’t have access to the intellectual property protection know-how that larger corporations do, especially how the new the Leahy-Smith America Invents Act (AIA) will impact patent application filing strategies.
Several Topics to be Discussed:
Ÿ Understand the Difference between Patents, Trademarks, Copyrights and Other Forms of Intellectual Property Protection
Ÿ Learn When and How to Apply for a Patent
Ÿ Learn Patent Application Filing Strategies In view of the New Patent Law (AIA)
Ÿ Learn Differences Between US and Foreign Patent Laws and Pitfalls to Watch Out For
Ÿ Learn How to Safeguard Your Company From Patent Infringement Lawsuits
Ÿ Learn What to do to Protect Your Company’s Products and Brands from Knock-offs
Ÿ Learn How to Register Your Trademark
Ÿ Learn What is Trade Dress and Fair Use
Ÿ Learn How U.S. Commercial Service can Assist your Business Export its Products
Ÿ Learn How to Negotiate Profitable Licensing Agreements for your Company
Ÿ Learn How to Raise Capital for your Start-up or Mid-size Company
Ÿ Understanding the Seller’s Obligation to Deliver Goods Free of any Third-party IP claims

To Register: Contact George Likourezos, Esq. at 631-501-5700 or send email to glikourezos@cdfslaw.com with your company name, address, telephone number, type of business, international market/country of interest
(Registration is Required and there is $30.00 Registration Fee)
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Touro Law Center Student Fellowship Program
FACT:  Only 15 percent of small businesses that do business overseas realize that a U.S. patent only
provides protection in the U.S.
