Michael Markowitz '89 Named December Alum of the Month



Touro Law Center's Office of Development, Alumni Relations and Communications is proud to announce that Michael Markowitz ’89 has been selected as the alum of the month for December. Mr. Markowitz was an active member of the Touro Law Center community while attending law school and remains engaged through Touro Law Center’s Alumni Council. He participates in programs for students, and he volunteers to meet with accepted and current students regularly.

Mr. Markowitz has his own practice in Hewlett, N.Y. focusing in the areas of commercial law, real estate transactions, litigation and contracts. He is admitted to practice law before U.S. Supreme Court, 2nd Circuit Court, U.S. District Courts for New York - Eastern and Southern Districts, and New York State Courts. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Nassau County Volunteer Lawyer’s Project, the Nassau County Bar Association, Vice Chair of the Community Relations and Public Education Committee and the Jewish Lawyers’ Association.

Mr. Markowitz was honored as Pro Bono Attorney of the Year from the Nassau County Bar Association in 1996 and was a citation recipient from the Nassau County Legislature in 1996. He is a New York State Arbitrator for the Nassau County District Court and Nassau County District Court small claims night arbitrator.
